현대사회에서 레이저는 다양한 분야에 이용 되고 있다. 가깝게는 슈퍼마켈에서 볼 수 있는 바코드 디텍터와 같은 일상적인 분야에서부터 오디오 및 비디오 시스템, 통신기기와 같은 전 문분야에 이르기까지 널리 이용되고 있다. 의 학에 있어서도 레이저는 진단에서 수술에 이 르는 전 과정에서 이제는 필수불가결한 장비가 되었으며, 지속적으로 개발되고 있는 최신 의 료장비이다.
