요약

의료발달로 인한 고령인구의 증가와 산업화에 따른 각종 공해물질의 증가로 인하여 두경부암의 발생빈도 는 증가하는 추세에 있어 외래에서 두경부암 환자를 어렵지 않게 접하게 된다. 암에 대한 치료는 현대의 학의 발달로 많은 진전이 있었지만 생존율이란 관점 에서 보면 아직도 만족스럽지 못한 것은 사실이다. 근래에는 암의 발생자체를 억제하는 연구가 광범위하 게 진행되고있고 분자생물학적 측면에서의 조기진단 에 대한 연구도 활발히 진행되고 있지만 해결해야 될 문제가 많은 형편이다. 다른 부위의 암과 마찬가지로 진행된 상태에서의 치료는 어렵지만 조기에 진단이 되면 치료후 예후가 좋기 때문에 조기에 진단하는 것 이 매우 중요하다. 특히 두경부부위의 대부분이 외래 에서 간단한 이학적검사로 관찰할수 있으므로 의사가 주의를 기울이면 진단하기가 용이한 편이다. 그러므 로 외래진료시 두경부암의 유무에 관심을 기울여야한 다.
