현대산업의 발달, 복잡한 생활，무절제한 약 물사용，범람하는 소음공해, 고령인구의 증가 등 여러 원인에 의해 난청환자는 물론 이명환 자가 년차적으로 점차 증가하고 있다는 사실을 각 종합병원에서의 연보에서도 증명되고 있다.
