ABSTRACT

Esophageal diverticulum is very rare disease. Since it usually has no symptoms, it is hard to find and diagnose. Moreover, if the diverticulum is located nearly to thyroid gland, surgeons sometimes misdiagnose as a thyroid nodule. Here, we represent our case which has papillary thyroid cancer and esophageal diverticulum together. In this case, we experienced the surgical procedure and postoperative complications of the esophageal diverticulum. Even though esophageal diverticulum was in preoperative computed tomography and ultrasound, it was neglected before the surgery so that found during the operation. The purpose of this study was to know the preoperative radiological findings of the esophageal diverticulum and to find out what to be aware of during surgery and how to manage the complications after surgery. ㄱ. 갑상선 고주파는 전극 주변에 고주파 전류가 흐르면서 조직내 이온들을 빠르게 진동시키고 
이렇게 발생한 마찰열(friction heat)을 통해 섭씨 60~100도씨의 열을 발생시켜 조직의 응고 괴사를 유도한다.

ㄴ. 생리식염수는 Na+,Cl-를 포함하여 전기전도성이 높아 5% DW 같은 비이온성 용액을 이용하는 것이 좋다.

ㄷ. 관련된 흔한 합병증은 통증, 혈종, 일시적 음성변화로 알려져 있다.

ㄹ. 갑상선 고주파절제술은 정상 갑상선조직을 최대한 보존하면서 양성결절의 부피감소를 유도하고, 
미세유두암의 완전 소실을 유도할 수 있는 치료이다.
