요약

수술 중 신경감시(intraoperative neuromonitoring, IONM)는 두경부 영역의 수술 중 갑상선수술에서 수술 중 발생할 수 있는 되돌이후두신경(recurrent laryngeal nerve, RLN)의 손상으로 이한 되돌이후두신경마비 (Recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy) 를 예방하기 위한 목 적으로 많이 사용되고 있다.¹⁾ 이는 갑상선이나 부갑상 선 수술 이후 발생할 수 있는 대표적인 부작용으로 되 돌이후두신경마비로 인한 환자들의 삶의 질 저하와 밀 접한 관련이 있기 때문이다.²⁾ 따라서 수술 중 신경감시 는 되돌이후두신경 의 손상으로부터 보호하기 위해 직접 적으로 식별하기 위한 주 검사도구(gold standard)로 사 용되고 있다.³⁾
