치과 임플란트는 질환 또는 외상으로 소실되거나 발치 한 치아를 대체하는 인공 치아 대체술로 악골의 손실을 방 지하는데에도 도움을 준다. 치과 임플란트는 치과 보철학 (인공 대체물)의 형태로 분류되나，또한 미용 치과학의 한 형태이기도 하다.
