ABSTRACT

Subperiosteal orbital abscess is one of common complications of sinusitis and can lead to exopthalmosis, diplopia or visual loss if not treated. Usually this abscess is occurred medial or inferior side of the orbital compartment due to the ethmoid or maxillary sinusitis, while orbital abscess which is located superiorly of the orbit is rare. We report our experience with subperiosteal abscess, located superiorly to the orbital compartments with orbital roof erosion, which is successfully treated by endoscopic transnasal and external approach.
