ABSTRACT

The Dermoid cysts in nasopharynx are rare congenital lesions. Dermoid cyst is classified into three categories according to its histological type;dermoid, epidermoid and teratoma. The treatment of choice is complete surgical excision. Prognosis is excellent and recurrent rate is extremely rare. We have experienced an unusual case of epidermoid cyst occurring in nasopharynx in an 31-year-old woman who complained continous nasal obstruction. Complete surgical excision was done. The microscopical examination of the surgical specimen composes of a keratinized squamous epithelium with skin appendages and fatty tissue. So, we present this case with a review of literature.
