내이성이명에 대한 steroid제 중이강내 주입의 효과

ABSTRACT

For the purpose to know the effect of intratympanic injection of the steroid on cochlear tinnitus, author performed intratympanic injection of 0.5cc dexamethasone mixed with vitamin B-12 500μg for 44 cases with cochlear tinnitus.

And then author summerized the result of subjective and objective assessment of that effect as follows:

  1. With subjective assessment, excellent effective was 13.6% and effective was 40.9%.

  2. On objective assessment with tinnitus test, 45.5% of all cases got 5∼10 dB ameliolation of tinnitus intensity, and 4.5% had 15 dB amelioration.

  3. Side effect was seen in 13.6% of all patients with dizziness, nausea, nystagmus and headache or head heaviness, but they abolished within one minute.

  4. The action mechanism of intratympanic steroid injection on cochlear tinnitus was supposed that it controls the hypersthenia of the tympanic plexus and the hair cell of inner ear.

With above summary, author suggests that intratympanic steroid injection would be one of the treatment modality for cochlear tinnitus.
