요약

중이 미세수술의 발전과 보청기 분야의 급 진적인 발전에도 불구하고 아직도 많은 환자 들이 난청으로 고통을 받고 있다. 미국의 통계 를 보면 2,000만 정도의 전도성 및 감음신경성 환자중 15 %는 중 이 수술로, 16% 정 도는 보 청 기의 착용으로 도움을 받고 있으나 약 70% 정도는 그대로 방치되고 있는 실정이다.¹⁾ 이러 한 문제는 문화와 의학의 발달로 고령의 인구 가 더 증가되고 난청환자의 비율이 높아질 것 으로 전망되어 이 분야에 대한 더 많은 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.
