요약

어느 잡지를 보니 그림 1과 같이 귀에서 연 기를 내뿜는 재미있는 사진이 실려 있었다. 설 명란에는 담배를 피우면서 담배연기를 깊게 빨아 들여 코를 막고 내뿜으면 귀에서 연기가 나와 본인은 물론이거니와 옆에 있던 가족들도 놀랐다고 하며 그 원인을 의사선생님의 설명을 듣고서 알았다고 한다. 이것은 중이염으로 고 막에 구멍이 생겨 폐에 들어간 연기가 이관 (Eustachian tube) 을 통해서 귀 밖으로 나오는 것으로, 고막천공이 있는 사람만이 할 수 있는 특기이다.
