요약

경부 이상감각증에 대하여 이제까지 많은 용어들이 사 용되어져 왔다. 특히 이비인후과의사에 의해 사용되었 던 일반적 인 용어로는 globus pharyngeus(neurosis, 신경 성), chronic laryngopharyngitis(목 염증), postmenau- posal syndrome(폐경기 증후군), neck muscle tension disorders(근육긴장성) 등으로 대부분 환자에게 설명되 어져 왔다. 그 후 위식도역류에 대한 연구와 빈도가 증 가함과 더불어 인후두역류증후군에 대한 관심이 많아 져 이비인후과 영역에서 대부분 사용되어지고 있다. 실 제 인후두 역류증후군에 대한 공식적인 용어의 발현은 1995년 미국 뉴올리언스에서 Koufman 등¹⁾네 의해 개최 된 인후두역류증후군에 대한 Consensus Conference Report 에 의해 공식화 되었다고 여겨진다. 그러나 병인, 검사결과, 증상 등에 대한 여러 연구결과 일치하지 않 는 결과들이 많아 용어의 선택에 있어서 많은 의문점등 이 있어 경부이상증후군(neck discomfort syndrome), 후두과민증(irritable laryngeal syndrome) 혹은 미주신 경 반사증(vagal reflex syndrome) 등으로 사용되어지는 경우가 빈번히 늘어나게 되었다. 그러나 현재까지 대부 분의 이 비 인후과의사들은 인후두역류증후군을 대부분 선호하고 사용하고 있는 실정이다.
