요약

부비동염은 종래 Caldwell-Luc법으로 수술하 였으나，ostiomeatal complex(이하 OM complex라함)나 전사골동 입구의 해부학적 변이가 재발의 원인이 되므로, 최근에는 이들 부위의 만성염증, 용종, 점액종 둥의 수술에 기능적 부비동 내시경 수술법(functional endoscopic sinus surgery: 이하 ESS라함)이 보편화 되게 되었다^3,18,23)
