ABSTRACT

Madelung’s disease (Multiple symmetrical lipomatosis) is a rare disease mainly characterized by multiple symmetrical non-encapsulated large subcutaneous fatty masses in the face, neck, shoulders, upper extremities, and other areas. Madelung’s disease was first described by Brodie in 1846, but Otto Madelung reported the first case series (35 cases) in 1888. Since then, approximately 200 cases have been reported. We experienced one case of Madelung’s disease and we report this case with a review of the associated literatures. (J Clinical Otolaryngol 2008;19:110–113)
